Inspired by the 2015 Concepts x ASICS Gel-Lyte “Boston Tea Party”, this colourway doubles as the perfect 4th of July sneaker. The Concepts x ASICS Gel-Lyte 5 “Libertea” honours Independence Day in the US with patriotic red, white, and blue accents. ASICS set a high standard after the success of the GEL-Lyte 3. The brand deviated from the iconic split-tongue setup of the previous model and opted for a one-piece sock-like construction for the Gel-Lyte 5. This early ‘90s running shoe easily transitioned to streetwear, gaining various collaborations with other leading fashion brands. The “Libertea” rendition celebrates Concepts’ Boston roots with a “Boston Tea Party” makeover. It has a USA-inspired suede construction, combining sail white perforated suede fabrics on the forefoot, a red fuzzy suede heel panel with netting on the quarter panels, and dark blue accents on the eyestay, tongue, and collar.
