London-based retailer Mallet has arrived with a shoe that is decked out in slick storytelling. Teaming up with London’s biggest transport network, Transport for London (TFL), gave Mallet the opportunity to tell a story that anyone can relate to, especially for those who live in the Big Smoke. The Stalwart Knox trainer is the silhouette of choice for this collaboration, and with its simple aesthetic, there’s more than enough room for fun detailing.Laying the foundation for this collaboration is the semi-translucent midsole, its glossy finish contrasting the matte black leather above. Subtly referenced on the side panelling and toe box is the legendary schematic illustration of the TFL network, first appearing in 1933 and is synonymous with the big city. Featured on the laces is a shroud that boasts co-branding and brings function as well as form, doubling up as an oyster card holder for any future journeys where you’re short on storage. The pair also comes packaged with an extra set of laces and a dual branded keychain, although it’s up to you whether you want to keep that on or not.
