New Balance has teamed up with the popular Miami-based streetwear brand, Stray Rats, to come up with a new collection for its 991 silhouette. The newest addition to the line is the Stray Rats x New Balance 991 Black Grey Purple. The base of the upper is a smooth velvet in pitch black. The nubuck overlays on the toe cap, the quarter and the heel counter are in matching black. The rest of the overlays on the mudguard, the eye stay panel and the collar are a cool light Grey. Reflective accents can be found on the toe box, the lining on the tongue and the heel tab. The “Stray” logo is embroidered in pinkish Purple on the lateral forefoot while the New Balance 991 logo in black is embroidered on the grey tongue tab. The “N” logos on the medial and the lateral sides of the quarter are also in a pinkish Purple shade outlined with black. The tongue lining and the sock liner are both in dark Purple. The midsole, a combination of black and Purple, and a black rubber outsole complete the shoe’s look.
