This release takes it back to the 2017 era of sneaker culture where we saw the first limited release of the Wotherspoon Air Max 97/1 and of course, Virgil’s The Ten collection. The blue hues on these are particularly reminiscent of his sample pair of Air Max 97/1, which saw a light blue Air Max 97 corduroy upper atop an Air Max 1 midsole.

This Nike Air Max 1 Premium Corduroy “Baltic Blue” features a corduroy build in lieu of its usual leather and mesh construction. We saw a similar material on the Air Max 1 “Crepe” editions from 2018 that featured an unusual combination of premium fabrics on the iconic Air Max. The only other shade of corduroy on this “Baltic Blue” release sits on the Swoosh in dark cream, matching the signature Air Max tongue label. Black elements adorn the inner lining and outsole, balancing out the blue’s bold presence on the upper. Tan Swooshes and tongue tags atop a Sail midsole and Black rubber outsole completes the design.
