As designated by the Japanese Lunar Calendar, the celebration occurs one day prior to the start of Spring. And while not a national holiday, many still partake in rituals that ward off evil spirits.<\/p>\n<p>You can capture the essence of the holiday through the shoe\u2019s various details. Often dubbed the \u201cBean-Throwing Festival,\u201d Setsubun is best commemorated in the shoe\u2019s added imagery. Across the back heel, for example, Tsuno Daishi, the Great Horned Master \u2014 a figure that is believed to protect from sickness and evil \u2014 is highlighted on the lateral heel through purple embroidery, and his horns have been substituted with Nike Swooshes. The figure\u2019s appearance, while seemingly ominous, actually protects from evil and illness. If you slip out the insoles, you\u2019ll notice that artwork from Utagawa Kuniyoshi is plastered on them in all-over fashion. It features his \u201cKintoki Throwing Beans at Fleeing Demon\u201d piece that displays the folk hero Kintar?.<\/p>\n<p>As for the construction, the upper blends suede with cracked and textured leathers, dressing many up in a shade reminiscent of roasted soybeans. The Swoosh as well as the lining are tinted a vibrant purple, matching the above-mentioned appearance of Tsuno Daishi.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Are dunks or SB dunks more comfortable?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Are Dunks Or SB Dunks More Comfortable?\u00a0An older SB Dunk can be more comfortable than a regular (non-SB) Dunk. Modern Dunk and SB Dunk releases tend to be stiffer right out of the box. It enables the sneaker to mold to your feet, preventing any slipping or wiggling. The tongue is held down with elastic straps which provide an added layer of lockdown.
