Continuing a tradition that began in 2012 with the KD 4, the Nike KD 3 \u201cAunt Pearl\u201d celebrates the memory of Kevin Durant\u2019s beloved aunt, who passed away from lung cancer in 2000.<\/p>\n

Dressed in a \u201cMedium Soft Pink,\u201d \u201cWhite\u201d and \u201cLotus Pink\u201d are believed to dress the pair\u2019s mixed textile construction. Along the mesh tongue and lace set sits a vibrant pink hue while the weaved material along the midfoot also borrows this shade. Accenting this is a white Nike Swoosh that runs back towards the heel and its KD branded logo in pink. Bright pink along the sockliner and heel tab complete the upper while the midsole comes in a two-tone white\/pink build paired with a pink rubber outsole.The proceeds from the special edition KD 3 will go to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.<\/p>\n

What does Aunt Pearl mean?<\/h4>\n

Nike announced the\u00a0KD VI Aunt Pearl, which honors Durant’s aunt who passed away from lung cancer in 2000. The proceeds from the special edition shoe will go to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.<\/p>\n

The KD VI Aunt Pearl pays tribute to KD\u2019s aunt with a pink floral pattern\u00a0on the upper and highlights of blue with subtle pearls.\u00a0 The floral motif\u00a0on the shoe is similar\u00a0to the pattern on a robe that Aunt Pearl often wore.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Durant has\u00a0vowed\u00a0to make sure the memory of his Aunt Pearl lives on:<\/p>\n

When did the KD 3 come out?<\/h4>\n
