The Jordan Brand’s shoe that celebrates Michael Jordan’s legacy with a shout-out to Chicago’s 312 area code, the Jordan Legacy 312, has a fresh variation in grey-scale with bursts of red.

This low-top Jordan Legacy 312 combines iconic elements of the AJ3, AJ1 and Alpha Force. This Jordan Legacy 312 Low starts off with a white leather construction on the base of the upper which is then contrasted by black and grey leather overlays on the toe, eyestay, branding tongue, and inner liner. A black midfoot strap gives the shoe a secure fit and matches the heel clip at the rear. The Air Jordan 3‘s iconic elephant print assumes its traditional role around the heel, while the sole unit underfoot also nods to Tinker Hatfield’s first design for Michael Jordan’s signature series. Lastly, the “NIKE”-branded lockdown strap running across the vamp is a functional touch that gives the Legacy 312 Low silhouette its own identity.

The 312 is a tribute to Chicago that’s equally inspired by MJ and today’s multi-faceted youth. Its name references the 312 area code of the city, as well as the shoe’s juxtaposition of the Air Jordan 1 and 3. “I wanted the Jordan Legacy 312 to have the sole of the Jordan 3, because to me, that shoe is the foundation of the brand”, Don explains. “The 1s and the 2s were Nikes first. The 3s were Jordans. That’s when the brand became the brand. I’ve always felt that the foundation of the brand is the 3, but it was built on the 1 first”.
