Converse teams up with Lay Zhang for a second collaborative shoe that blends traditional Chinese culture with the classic Chuck 70 silhouette, to create an explosion of “East meets West”. From dancing to producing music, Lay Zhang is constantly pushing himself and expressing himself through his innovative work. This collaborative design is inspired by the traditional Chinese cultural symbol “Blue & White Porcelain”, and includes a lotus flower detail that represents Chinese culture , while the Bandana represents dance inspiration from the west; the blend of these eastern and western details sit atop a “glow in the dark” outsole. Lay Zhang and Converse together, have broken the cultural boundaries with this collaboration to erupt a side of creative freedom through traditional Chinese culture — founded upon elements of the traditional past, to create a dynamic future.
