Nike is giving you a chance to grab an underdog pair of Jordans with the return of its Air Jordan 1 KO Low in 2023. Released as far back as ’85, the KO was a cheap alternative to the numbered Air Jordan line, with its canvas construction and lack of Air unit significantly reducing construction costs. The KO has always been loved by a niche circle of sneakerheads who enjoy the silhouette’s underdog status, many of which preferred the KO because of its canvas tooling and childhood associations. While the question still remains as to whether KO stands for Knock Off or Knock Out, what is certain is that this “Bred” colourway is fire.After mixed reviews on the Union LA x Air Jordan 1 KO Low “White Cream” that dropped towards the end of 2022, as well as a lukewarm reception for the general release editions, the ballot is still out as to whether the Air Jordan 1 KO Low’s return will be successful. Dropping alongside another OG colourway in the “Shadow” edition, this “Bred” make-up is most likely the silhouette’s best shot at the mainstage. Apart from the obvious changes such as the canvas panelling and suede Swoosh, branding on the KO is also slightly different.
