Footwear customizer and entrepreneur Devlin Braswell, also known as Dee-Nyce, is the founder of Oakland-based boutique Fly Boys Couture Club (FBCC) and knows how a safe space and a mentor can lift a community. Both him and Steph teamed up to create the Curry 6 “Christmas in the Town” by letting the youth from his class drive the design. They began by brainstorming about symbols of Christmas, which led to the classic image of snow. Wanting to create a Christmas colorway that could be worn year-round, they then honed in for the inspiration of Lake Tahoe, with the White snowcaps of surrounding mountains floating far above the icy Blue lake. The kids also loved the connection to Carolina Blue, knowing Stephen spent his Christmas holidays in North Carolina when he was their age. Adorned with lights and basketball ornaments, this Town tree is a fitting tribute to the man who has led the resurgence of Oakland professional basketball.
