Montreal-based imprint JJJJound is ready to make headlines once more with a limited-edition sneaker collaboration. Reuniting with the fan-favourite footwear brand New Balance, the duo heads to the Flimby factory in the UK to deliver a covetable rendition of its iconic 991 silhouette.
A breathable mesh base with supple suede overlays maintains the premium construction synonymous with New Balance’s Made in UK products, accompanied by familiar branding details like the “N” logo midfoot and a comfortable ABZORB sole unit underfoot. Justin Saunders’ minimalist approach to his work continues on this UK-made offering, presenting only a branding imprint of “JJJJound” on the heel logo windows to complete the ensemble.
The official release date for the JJJJound x New Balance 991 is still unknown. However, rumour has it that it’ll arrive this December. If you don’t want to miss out on the latest New Balance collaborations, always stay locked in The Sole Supplier. In related news, the New Balance 580 returns to reference classic colourways.
In a recent listing this week on eBay, the JJJJound x New Balance 991 colourway displays earthy shades of grey and brown, which already appeared on their NB990v3 from 2018 and NB992 from 2020.
